The recent announcement that Celebrex, a popular pain drug in the same family as Vioxx, has been found to pose an increased risk of heart problems is bound to leave many pain patients stunned, confused and worried.
American Diversified Holdings Corporation (Pink Sheets: ADHC) Strategic Alliance partner INVENT Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted its provisional patent application US 61/271,720 on novel drug candidates for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and age-related cognitive and memory impairment.
With over 23 million children and adolescents in the US overweight or obese, the risks for many chronic diseases continue to increase. An article in the October issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association examines the diets of American youth and finds some disturbing results.
While African American men are more likely to die from cardiovascular disease, they paradoxically have fewer cases of coronary obstruction than clinically similar white men, according to a new national study led by a Medical College of Wisconsin researcher.
In the first study of its kind, using sophisticated methods to measure body composition, the nationally known commercial weight loss program, Weight Watchers, was compared to gym membership programs to find out which method wins in the game of good health.
