Researchers at Okayama University report in the journal Arthritis & Rheumatology that monitoring a particular antigen can be used for predicting relapse of the vascular disease AAV.
Countless people have heard the phrase, "You have lung cancer," but only 50 can say they've completed a new treatment at Temple University that doubles their chances of surviving the deadly disease - and without the conventional radiation regimen or surgery.
Free seasonal flu vaccinations will be offered to those who work in close contact with poultry as a precautionary public health measure, the UK Department of Health announced.
Every fall, millions of people roll up their sleeves to get a flu shot. Up to 20 percent of the population gets the flu and more than 200,000 people are hospitalized with flu complications each year, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While seasonal vaccines provide some protection, they are not always effective because the strains of influenza virus in the vaccine may not be well matched to the flu viruses circulating that year. So researchers are searching for a way to develop a more universal vaccine that would be effective against any variety of influenza.
LUMEDX Corporation, a leading provider of cloud-based cardiovascular imaging and information systems (CVIS), and Scientific Software Solutions, Inc., (SSS), maker of PedCath congenital catheterization (cath) reporting software, announced today that they are partnering to create an innovative solution for congenital cardiac data and image management.
