The Greenlining Institute (www.greenlining.org) today reacted to a survey conducted by the Lombardo Consulting Group which shows that Americans are losing confidence in the health care reform process (available here.) The national poll found that an overwhelming number of poll respondents believe that "side deals" between Washington decision makers and the pharmaceutical industry have "seriously compromised efforts to enact real reform of the health care system."
Additional research is called for and patients with moderate to severe periodontitis should receive evaluation and possible treatment to reduce their risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD), according to a special consensus paper by editors of The American Journal of Cardiology and Journal of Peridontology in the July 1, 2009 issue of The American Journal of Cardiology, published by Elsevier.
Impairments in processing and using information that help with decision-making and planning simple tasks such as grocery shopping are linked with one's frequency of alcohol or drug use according to a new study.
NEW ideas and technologies that could prevent kidney disease, allow earlier diagnosis and give patients greater independence are to be developed thanks to an innovative funding competition developed.
Research funded in part by the Canadian Cancer Society may lead to a genetic screening test that could help families who are at high risk for cancer.
