Bristol-Myers Squibb Company today announced that more than 80 abstracts highlighting compounds from the company's oncology portfolio will be presented at the 51st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) to be held December 5-8 in New Orleans.
The discovery of a protein that encourages blood vessel growth, and especially 'bad' blood vessels - the kind that characterise diseases as diverse as cancer, age-related macular degeneration and rheumatoid arthritis - has been reported in the journal Nature.
Whole genome analysis (WGA) enables rapid diagnosis of rare disease, ensuring that an appropriate course of management and treatment can be administered, possibly within days for acute neonatal cases, cutting the cost of intensive care and potentially saving lives. Rapid diagnosis is one of the many benefits of using the Sapientia™ genome analysis and interpretation platform that Dr Nick Lench, Chief Operating Officer of Congenica, will be discussing at Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) 2017 on January 23rd at 3.15pm.
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) is establishing four new Research Units to facilitate cross-regional, interdisciplinary cooperation among researchers. This decision was taken by the DFG Senate at its autumn meeting in Bonn. The new groups are intended to enable researchers to devote themselves to current and urgent issues within their fields and to develop new approaches.
