BioMedical Enterprises, Inc. (BME), has announced that on July 20th the Honorable Judge Laura Taylor Swain ordered that all proceedings in the patent infringement lawsuit between BME and InteliFUSE, Inc. be stayed pending the Court's disposition of a motion for summary judgment brought by BME.
Biogen Idec and Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB today announced results from a Phase 1/2a open-label, dose-escalation, safety and pharmacokinetic study of the companies' long-lasting, fully-recombinant factor IX Fc fusion protein (rFIXFc) in hemophilia B patients. The data, which were presented at the World Federation of Hemophilia Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on July 11, 2010, showed that rFIXFc was well tolerated and demonstrated an approximately three-fold increase in half-life compared to historical data for existing therapies.
Working conditions, mass layoffs and other economy-related reasons could explain the rises and falls in temporary disability rates.
There is strong evidence showing that individuals who experienced chronic pain during childhood have chronic pain as adults, but few studies have evaluated the characteristics of pain that persists from childhood through adult years. Researchers from the University of Michigan found that one in six adult pain patients had pain as children or adolescents, and their pain was widespread and neuropathic with psychological comorbidities and decreased function.
