"At a public event held Tuesday on Capitol Hill, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria spotlighted the contributions of public-private partnerships to the Global Fund's lifesaving work," a joint press release reports.
A team of researchers led by Colorado State University has developed a test to facilitate early diagnosis of Lyme Disease, which it is hoped will improved treatment outcomes. Until now, it was difficult to distinguish Lyme disease from similar, less severe tick-borne conditions.
A prestigious peer-review journal will publish an article in its January 2010 edition outlining a Vancouver BC based biomedical technology company's solution to the growing problem of hospital patients acquiring bacterial infections. The article about Enox Biopharma's self-sterilizing technology for catheters (patent pending) was accepted for publication in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, a journal of the American Society for Microbiology and one of the most prominent publications in the field.
