Weizmann Institute scientists have added a significant piece to the puzzle of scaling - how patterns stay in sync with size as an embryo or organism grows and develops. In a new study appearing in Current Biology, Institute scientists Profs.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned last fall that the U.S. faces "potentially catastrophic consequences" if it doesn't act quickly to combat the growing threat of antibiotic-resistant infections, which kill about 23,000 Americans a year.
Texas schoolchildren must be current on their immunizations before going back to class this fall, but it may have been decades since some of their parents have had a vaccination. August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and UnitedHealthcare wants to remind adults that immunizations are not just for children.
Eight dairy organizations from around the world are joining efforts to demonstrate the tangible nutritional benefits of dairy at a symposium on "Maintaining health with nutrient rich diets: The role of dairy in prevention of metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease (CVD), obesity and sarcopenia."
