Scientists have identified a drug combination, when used in advanced lung cancer patients, shows a survival advantage in patients who no longer respond to existing therapies.
It's estimated that nearly 30 percent of the 38.2 million people aged 65 or older in this country receive some form of caregiving, either for health reasons or to help manage daily activities.
Among them is the combination of lopinavir and ritonavir, which have been in use in an attempt to reduce the severity of the disease. However, a new South Korean study published on the preprint server bioRxiv in September 2020 shows that this combination is ineffective against the virus.
Masimo (Nasdaq: MASI), the inventor of Pulse CO-Oximetry(TM) and Measure-Through Motion and Low-Perfusion pulse oximetry, and GS Elektromedizinische Gerate G. Stemple GmbH, a German developer and manufacturer of innovative medical equipment for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS), today jointly announced a worldwide technology licensing agreement to integrate Masimo Rainbow SET Pulse CO-Oximetry into corpuls(R) patient monitoring modules. The agreement enables GS GmbH to expand the vital signs and noninvasive measurement capabilities of its defibrillators and patient monitoring systems to help EMS professionals detect and treat life-threatening conditions earlier.
Inter Press Service reports on a recent symposium on access to medicine, "jointly hosted by the WHO, the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organisation."
