IQuum, Inc. today announced it has been granted an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Liat™ Influenza A/2009 H1N1 Assay. The assay detects and differentiates 2009 H1N1 influenza viral RNA starting from collected nasopharyngeal swab samples in less than 30 minutes.
In what will surprise many, the number of men having plastic surgery to improve their appearance has almost doubled over the last year with liposuction the most popular procedure among male city workers.
Looking at brain tissue from mice, monkeys and humans, scientists have found that a molecule known as growth and differentiation factor 10 (GDF10) is a key player in repair mechanisms following stroke. The findings suggest that GDF10 may be a potential therapy for recovery after stroke.
Scientists at the University of Oxford and the University of Bristol have developed a new method to 3D-print laboratory- grown cells to form living structures.
