A study from Switzerland suggests that men who have surgery for prostate cancer appear less likely to die of the disease within 10 years than men who choose other treatment options, especially if they are younger or have cancers with certain tumor cell characteristics, according to a report in the Oct. 8 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
Affymax, Inc. today announced that it has received a decision from the arbitration panel reviewing its dispute against certain subsidiaries of Johnson and Johnson (JNJ).
Primary care physicians agree they have a role in addressing obesity, but say they do not have the right weight management resources. Obese or heavier adults take responsibility for weight loss, but adults who need to lose weight may lack information about effective weight loss methods and strategies. These findings and others come from new research commissioned and released today by the Strategies to Overcome and Prevent Obesity Alliance.
Bathing tumor-ridden livers in chemotherapy increases the length of time certain cancer patients survive without progression of the disease, according to Phase III trial results being presented at the 3rd annual Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO), in collaboration with the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy (ISET).
