The team of María Domínguez, researcher for the Neuroscience Institute, joint venture of the Miguel Hernández University in Elche and the Spanish National Research Council, has managed to prove for the first time that an important factor in the development of acute pediatric lymphoblastic leukemia is inflammation.
Patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) did not have a higher rate of death at one year compared with those who had their heart valve replaced via open-heart surgery, according to research presented at the American College of Cardiology's Annual Scientific Session Together with World Congress of Cardiology.
The Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) of Seattle, WA, is collaborating with the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease (GIND) and its Taube-Koret Center for Huntington's Disease Research to use whole-genome sequencing to identify genes and novel drug targets related to the onset and progression of Huntington's disease (HD).
