Researchers from Karolinska Institutet have found a protein that is a critical regulator in the development of fatty liver disease in mice, according to a study published in the journal Nature Communications.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine is pleased to announce the receipt of a gift commitment of $1.5 million to fund the creation of an Endowed Chair in Pathology. The gift comes from an alumnus of the medical school who wishes to remain anonymous, but wants to express his support for the School of Medicine's educational mission and the important role the school fulfills in the community.
A new study of nursing home records shows more residents with dementia are seeking a hospice benefit and using it longer. The study also estimates that 40 percent of nursing home residents die with some degree of dementia.
