The Congressional Budget Office report comes out as House Speaker John Boehner discusses whether there's a future for a GOP bill.
Following an audit last year by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria that found Papua New Guinea's National Department of Health (NDOH) "had not complied with grant guidelines and some $7 million had been misdirected," the government is stepping down as the principal recipient (PR) of Global Fund grants in order to "improve its response," IRIN reports.
Scientists from 28 research facilities in 20 European countries are meeting today in Berlin to kick off the collaborative research project DISCHARGE. The purpose of this project is to determine for which patients with chest pain cardiac CT or cardiac catheterization is best suited.
Threshold Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced results from Phase 1/2 clinical trials in various solid tumors related to its hypoxia-activated prodrug, TH-302. The results were presented during the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting being held in Chicago, IL.
