In response to the recent deaths from multiple house fires in the City of Cleveland, The American Red Cross of Greater Cleveland in partnership with the City of Cleveland Fire Department, is conducting an Operation Save-A-Life Fire Safety Walk on the near west-side of Cleveland on Monday, November 23, 2009.

Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company today announced that Science magazine has named it among the best biopharmaceutical companies in the world for the fourth consecutive year. Each year Science conducts a survey to determine the top employers in the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical and related industries worldwide.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is awarding up to $1.5 million, over three years, to Morehouse School of Medicine to enhance the effort to network the 105 Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the United States to promote behavioral health, expand campus service capacity and facilitate workforce development.
Older adults experience a number of medication-related problems, including under treatment, suboptimal drugs, suboptimal dosing, and non-adherence, which can have negative effects on their quality of life. Now new research, from the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill shows that blacks have more medication-related problems than whites, and non-adherence to medical regimens is a particular issue for this group.
