Their results were published in the July 21 edition of Lancet.

Risperidone recall by J&J

Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a unit of Johnson & Johnson, recalled about 16,000 bottles of its Risperdal schizophrenia drug on reports of an uncharacteristic odor. The recall affects one lot that was shipped between Aug. 27, 2010, and Feb. 15, 2011.

Advanced adoptive paternal age not linked to schizophrenia risk

Swedish researchers have found no evidence to suggest that advanced adoptive paternal age is associated with an increased risk for schizophrenia in adoptees.

Tonsillectomy is the most common major surgical procedure performed in children. Children who undergo the surgical removal of their tonsils (tonsillectomy), with or without the removal of their adenoids (adenoidectomy), are at increased risk for becoming overweight after surgery, according to new research published in the February 2011 issue of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
