Seattle Genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGEN) announced today that it has achieved a milestone under its antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) collaboration with Bayer Schering Pharma AG, Germany. The milestone was triggered by Bayer's submission of an Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for MN-IC, an ADC for solid tumors.
Women who deliver their first child by cesarean section (C-section) are less likely to conceive a second child than those who deliver vaginally, despite being just as likely to plan a subsequent pregnancy, according to Penn State College of Medicine researchers.
Vitamin D deficiency was an indicator of aggressive prostate cancer and spread of the disease in European-American and African-American men who underwent their first prostate biopsy because of abnormal prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and/or digital rectal examination (DRE) test results, according to a study published in Clinical Cancer Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.
According to health experts, there is a "life-long obesity risk of 'eating for two' in pregnancy". The common advice is reinforced by the results of a study that followed women for a number of years.
