Two leading international organizations in the bone field are joining forces to establish a global series of training courses. The International Osteoporosis Foundation and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry have agreed to work together to develop an exciting new series of training courses which will set new standards in health education in the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis.
Exagen Diagnostics, Inc., a molecular diagnostics laboratory that discovers, develops and markets proprietary genomic tests, today announced an exclusive sales and marketing agreement with EndoChoice, Inc. to promote its diagnostic services to gastroenterologists throughout the United States.
Thresholds limiting bariatric surgeries to high-volume centers disproportionately restrict access for poor and underinsured patients, populations which are among the most in need of them, an analysis led by UT Southwestern Medical Center researchers shows.
The scientists observed that a protein called P-glycoprotein (P-gp), which causes resistance to chemotherapy in many tumor types, is able to physically "jump" or transfer between tumor cells and retain its functional properties, protecting otherwise sensitive cells from the effects of anti-cancer treatment in vivo and in vitro.
Florida State University researchers are working on new approaches to deciphering genetic data that may lead to new, more targeted prostate cancer treatments.
