In a new Yale-led study, investigators have revealed previously unknown factors that contribute to the hardening of arteries and plaque growth, which cause heart disease.
Electronic data routinely gathered in hospitals can be used as a warning system for missed doses of prescribed medicine and making improvements to patient safety, says a new study.
Intrasphere Technologies, a Drug Safety specialized consulting and solutions firm that provides services to Life Sciences organizations, today announced that it has launched SafetyXpress. SafetyXpress for Argus is Intrasphere's proprietary implementation accelerator framework for the rapid deployment of the Argus Safety suite. Intrasphere is a Specialized Oracle Argus Safety Gold Partner.
The study found that patients taking lisinopril – a medication used to treat chronic high blood pressure – were more likely to have their prescriptions refilled on time if the medication came in a blister package rather than as loose tablets in a bottle. In this case, the blister package clearly started the day on which to take each pill.
For the last three years, Galloway and his graduate students have been studying the early motor skills of infants and have found that the encouragement of movement very early in life can spur physical development.
