Saint Marys Hospital and Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital recently received re-verification as Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers, respectively, by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). The ACS verification recognizes Mayo Clinic's dedication to providing the highest-quality trauma care for all injured patients. Mayo Eugenio Litta Children's Hospital is the first children's hospital in Minnesota to receive verification as an independent level one pediatric trauma center.
For patients who have experienced certain common types of stroke, a small chip inserted under the skin may help physicians predict their likelihood of experiencing a second stroke, and therefore their likelihood of benefiting from preventive therapy.
Cancer researchers of the Max Delbr-ck Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch have gained new insights into how cells react to DNA damage.
