LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. today announced that its Board of Directors, at a regularly scheduled meeting, has authorized a new stock repurchase program that will allow for repurchases of up to $150 million of its common stock over the next 18 months.
With flu season in full swing and the threat of H1N1 looming, demand for vaccines is at an all-time high. Although those vaccines are expected to be effective, University of Missouri researchers have found further evidence that some over-the-counter drugs, such as aspirin and Tylenol, that inhibit certain enzymes could impact the effectiveness of vaccines.
Enterobacter sakazakii has been found in powdered infant formula before, but a new UK study is the first to detect it in dried infant food.
The GAVI Alliance and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) "entered into a partnership Monday (March 11), with the goal to vaccinate at least 400 million children by 2020 in the bank's member countries," Devex reports, noting, "The alliance said it would need an estimated $7 billion to reach its target under the partnership" (3/12).
