Researchers of the Human Molecular Genetics group at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute, led by Dr. Sara Larriba, in collaboration with Dr. Francesc Vigués and Dr. Manel Castells of the Urology Service of Bellvitge University Hospital, show the usefulness of certain molecules, the miRNAs in semen, as non-invasive biomarkers for prostate cancer.
One minute of radiation in the operating room (OR) could save the lives of thousands of women being treated for breast cancer in the US today. According to a growing body of research, a 60-second course of radiation therapy delivered during surgery dramatically improves results. But, until recently, logistical and administrative difficulties prevented most patients from receiving this crucial treatment until weeks after their procedures.
Covalon Technologies Ltd., an advanced medical technologies company, today announced it is presenting its latest line of advanced wound care and medical coating products, including ColActive® Plus Ag from August 10th to 12th at FIME International Medical Expo.
A team of scientists led by Cornell University's Dr. John Schimenti reports today that an extraordinary number of genes are required for prenatal mammalian development. The researchers estimate that up to 19% of all genes are vital for embryogenesis in mice.
