HeartWare announces $100 million convertible senior notes offering

HeartWare International, Inc. announced today its intention to offer, subject to market and other conditions, $100 million principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2017 (the "notes") pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") today. Hui Shao, MD, PhD, associate professor of ophthalmology and visual sciences at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, has received a $60,000 Lew R. Wasserman Merit Award from the Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) organization.
