The incidence of type 2 diabetes and hypertension increases with cumulative levels of exposure to nitrogen oxides, according to a new study led by researchers from the Slone Epidemiology Center (SEC) at Boston University.
Physicians around the world now have guidance that can help them determine the best oral blood thinners to use for their patients suffering from blood clots in their veins, thanks to a patient of The Ottawa Hospital who asked his physician a question he couldn't answer.
In a new study, a collaboration of researchers from various institutes described the natural history of SARS-CoV-2 testing, which includes Ct values among patients who had tested positive multiple times, prior to the emergence of VOCs in the vaccine roll-out. In addition, the authors analyze the timescale of positivity and clinical features of the population of patients with prolonged SARS-CoV-2 positivity.
The Image Gently Alliance, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Emergency Physicians, AANS/CNS Joint Section on Pediatric Neurosurgery and allied medical organizations have launched the "Think A-Head" campaign to help providers appropriately obtain and perform computed tomography (CT) scans in children with minor head injuries.
