Patients are reportedly happy with the services they received at the Weston General Hospital outpatient department. The survey of 850 patients revealed Weston Area Health NHS Trust has improved in 13 areas since the last survey in 2009 and performs significantly better than other NHS trusts in 12 areas.
A new method to induce protein folding by taking the pressure off of proteins is up to 100 times faster than previous methods, and could help guide more accurate computer simulations for how complex proteins fold, according to research by a team of University of Illinois scientists accepted for publication in the journal Nature Methods and posted on the journal's Web site May 31.
New research conducted by The Beryl Institute shows that while patient experience is a top priority for hospital executives, it is still largely undefined. This landmark study of more than 790 hospital executives examined the state of the patient experience in the nation's hospitals and identified the greatest roadblocks to implementing change.
The number of drug overdose deaths in the US has never been higher. Most of those deaths-68 percent in 2017-have involved opioids. An estimated 10 million Americans aged 12 and older misused opioids in 2018.
An abnormally low level of a protein in certain nerve cells is linked to movement problems that characterize the deadly childhood disorder spinal muscular atrophy, new research in animals suggests.
