Perrigo Company today announced that it has received final approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to manufacture and market over-the-counter (OTC) Cetirizine Cherry Syrup, 1mg/ml. Shipments will begin in the Company's fiscal first quarter 2011. Cherry joins the currently available grape flavor cetirizine syrup in Perrigo's product portfolio, giving patients a choice of store brand flavors.
USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah on Wednesday at the Food Security Investment Forum outlined U.S. plans for its food security partnership with Bangladesh as part of the Feed the Future initiative, the Daily Star reports. The goal of the two-day forum was "to help Bangladesh finalise a roadmap for future investments in food and agriculture," the publication writes (5/27).
Viji Santhakumar, an associate professor of molecular, cell and systems biology at the University of California, Riverside, has received funding from the National Institute of Neurological Disaster and Stroke of the National Institutes of Health to further pursue research on moderate concussive brain injury, which results from car accidents or sports-related concussions.
The Associated Press reports that the first estimate of health care's carbon footprint has found that the industry "emits less than its share of the gases that promote global warming, compared to its size in the economy."
