Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) report on a novel approach to the delivery of small bits of genetic material in order to silence genes using "RNA interference"-and in the process, discovered a potent method of suppressing inflammation in mice similar to what occurs in a range of human diseases.
A new study by researchers at Brookhaven National Laboratory and Stony Brook University in the U.S. describes the key interaction between the viral envelope (E) protein and the human cell junction protein, PALS1. The latter is necessary to establish and maintain cell polarity and tight junctions between cells.
Dr. John D. Statler, a board-certified, fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist with Virginia Interventional & Vascular Associates, is one of only 23 physicians nationwide selected this year as new Fellows in the Society of Interventional Radiology.
