To increase influenza vaccinations rates among the elderly - those ages 65 and over who are at high risk for influenza-related mortality - the federal government could consider borrowing a page from the pharmaceutical companies' prescription drug advertising campaigns.
Just a day after New York passed a landmark gun control law which would require mental health workers to report to authorities patients deemed to be a danger to themselves or others, President Barack Obama is also expected to unveil his gun control agenda. The New York measure, however, is already drawing criticism from experts who worry that its reporting requirement could hinder treatment.
Celgene International Sàrl today announced that initial data from an investigator-initiated study of REVLIMID (lenalidomide) plus Rituxan (rituximab) in patients with newly diagnosed indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) were presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
An international collaboration of scientists from the CEA, CNRS, University Joseph Fourier, the EMBL and the ILL has revealed the molecular function of a protein essential for replication of H5N1 influenza virus.
