Researchers at the University of Nebraska Medical Center found an Infrared Thermal Detection System to be a fast and effective fever screening tool in clinical settings during the H1N1 influenza pandemic. The ITDS detected fever in patients through split-second, non-contact skin temperature measurements.
A study conducted by researchers at Northwestern University, Chicago, has found that the placentas of pregnant women who were infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) showed abnormalities, compared with those of uninfected women.
FilterPure and their partners Global Effect and other NGOs announced today a ground breaking ceremony in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti for a new water filtration factory. The FilterPure factory will employ Haitians to build, manufacture and distribute the FilterPure filters that eliminate 99.9% of antimicrobial contaminants that cause water-borne illnesses and deaths.
Federal programs to assist the unemployed are failing job seekers with disabilities, according to an investigation by Jean Hall and Kathy Parker of the Center for Research on Learning at the University of Kansas.
