Shire plc, the global specialty biopharmaceutical company, and ArmaGen, a US privately held biotechnology company, today announced a worldwide licensing and collaboration agreement for AGT-182, an investigational enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) for the potential treatment of both the central nervous system (CNS) and somatic manifestations in patients with Hunter syndrome (MPS II).
A new ADD/ADHD study found that a multi-modal hemispheric based program significantly improved the participant's educational outcomes. The study, "The Effect of Hemispheric Specific Remediation Strategies on the Academic Performance Outcome of Children With ADD/ADHD," was conducted by a research team including, Gerry Leisman, Robert Melillo, Sharon Thum, Mark Ransom, Michael Orlando, Christopher Tice, and Frederick Carrick. The study appears in the current issue of the International Journal of Adolescent Medicine and Health.
Researchers have determined that a gene present in mouse cells limits the number of times that a cell can divide. The gene is involved in a process, called senescence, which is thought to ensure that aging cells do not pass on harmful mutations.
Whether it is a radiography application for an emergency room (ER) or a neonatal intensive care unit, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, offers various configurations to meet medical practitioners' needs. At the 2011 American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) Exposition, Canon U.S.A. will display its complete digital radiography solutions at the Canon booth (#702) from August 14 -17.
