Researchers at Joslin Diabetes Center, supported by JDRF, have completed a study of 158 people who have lived with type 1 diabetes (T1D) for 50 years or more with eye examinations at Joslin over many decades of follow-up, and have concluded that a high proportion of this unique group of patients developed little to no diabetic eye disease over time.
A team of UK-based scientists has recently evaluated the effectiveness of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines in preventing household transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in England.
Each year, about 210 million women become pregnant and about 140 million newborn babies are delivered. While progress has been made in reducing maternal mortality globally, differences remain at international and national levels. The gap between the groups of countries with the lowest and highest rates of maternal mortality has doubled between 1990 and 2013.
