A global shortage of the most commonly used radioisotope in medical diagnostic procedures, Technetium-99 (99mTc), will have a major impact on hospitals around the world within the next year.
Cancer Research Technology (CRT), Merck Serono, a division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, Cancer Research UK, Cardiff University and The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) are set to begin a major new research collaboration for the first time. This will provide substantial investment in research on the WNT signalling pathway in the hope of finding new drug targets.
Today at the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) 43rd Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer®, Dr. Jonathan Ledermann, Director of Cancer Services and Professor of Medical Oncology at University College London, presented new data updating the overall survival of women enrolled in a "Phase II randomized placebo-controlled study of olaparib (AZD2281) maintenance in patients with platinum-sensitive relapsed serous ovarian cancer."
Performing cardiac catheterizations through the radial artery is proven to lower the risk of vascular complications, reduce major bleeding and improve patient recovery time when compared to femoral access. Shannon Medical Center, in San Angelo, Texas, installed Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.'s Infinix CF-i single plane vascular X-ray system to conduct radial interventions more easily and improve patient safety and outcomes while reducing costs.
AllOne Health(SM) and Connectyx Technologies Holdings Group, Inc. (Pink Sheets: CTYX) today announced a partnership that will allow consumers to view and manage health information on the Web, via portable USB storage devices and through their mobile phones, with one, secure step.
