An estimated 55 million children and teens from birth to age 19 were treated in emergency departments for unintentional injuries from 2001 to 2006, according to a new report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Back in spring 2009, the H1N1 influenza virus crossed the U.S. border and raised concerns that it might cause a full-scale epidemic in the fall. The Food and Drug Administration worked with other Health and Human Services agencies and vaccine manufacturers to quickly develop, license and distribute a vaccine to protect the public from this particularly virulent strain of the flu.
The US FDA after deliberation has come up with a warning to the nation's pediatricians to stop giving children a vaccine that prevents diarrhea causing Rotavirus vaccine. There is reportedly a contamination with a harmless pig virus in this vaccine called Rotarix and manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline.
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories announced today that it has launched Ziprasidone Hydrochloride Capsules, a bioequivalent generic version of Geodon in the US market on March 2, 2012 following the approval by the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) of Dr. Reddy's ANDA for Ziprasidone Hydrochloride Capsules.
