Bangladesh will conduct the world's largest clinical trial of an affordable cholera vaccine which could save tens of thousands of lives. The study began Thursday and involves nearly 250,000 people near the capital, Dhaka.
CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank is proud to announce that the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank a three-year, multi-million dollar contract to expand the supply of cord blood units for the National Cord Blood Inventory (NCBI).
A universal influenza vaccine with the potential to be longer lasting and more effective than commercially available vaccines is destined for human clinical trials, thanks to a $17.9 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Nearly a year into the pandemic, many public schools are still closed to in-person instruction. But while there is increasing evidence that schools are not a major source of infection, teachers and staffers remain concerned about going back to class before they are vaccinated.
