According to research presented this week at the American College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting in Chicago, people taking anti-tumor necrosis factor therapies to treat rheumatoid arthritis have a higher risk of developing malignant melanoma.
Much orthopaedic research has been devoted to determining why women are far more susceptible to knee ligament injuries than men. According to a new study, the answer may lie in geometry - the length and shape of a patient's knee bone - more than gender.
That's because the CICU he runs has the lowest myocardial infarction (heart attack) mortality in the entire South Texas region. It has one of the lowest rates in the state of Texas.
Individuals diagnosed with a brain arteriovenous malformation, an abnormal tangle of arteries and veins, are at an increased risk of vessel rupture and bleeding that can cause stroke and permanent brain damage.
