There are found genes that have been identified to be associated with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). These genes have been found to alter the circuitry of the brain in a manner that could lead to OCD. These genetic links also point to the fact why OCD sometimes runs in families. The study is published in the latest issue of Nature Communications.
Cutera, Inc. and IRIDEX Corporation today announced that the companies have entered into a binding agreement for Cutera to purchase certain assets of IRIDEX' global aesthetic business for approximately $5.1 million.
"The case of the 'anti-prostitution pledge' heading for the Supreme Court this month focuses on whether the requirement that groups funded by [PEPFAR] create policies 'explicitly' condemning prostitution is compatible with the First Amendment," the Center for Global Health Policy's "Science Speaks" blog reports.
A model has been created that can help determine the risk of death within six months for nursing home patients with advanced dementia, according to a study in the June 9 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
