A direct, head-to-head comparison of two of the newer treatments available for type 2 diabetes yielded mixed results.
FitBionic has completed a $2.2 million funding round with a team led by KMG Capital Partners, with High Country Venture and the Colorado Institute for Drug, Device and Diagnostic Development. The investment was developed in support of the global launch of FitBionic's currently available first product, the FitBionic Foot, and as a bridge to the company's Series A financing, which is expected in 2014.
SERVE-HF, the largest study to investigate if treatment of predominant central sleep apnea (CSA) improves survival and outcomes of patients with stable heart failure, has enrolled its 1,000th participant. The study, sponsored by ResMed Ltd., is the largest of its kind. This milestone brings the SERVE-HF study, which began in 2008, one step closer to its target of approximately 1,250 participants.
