ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc., today announced positive preliminary results from a Phase 1/2 clinical study of bepotastine besilate nasal spray conducted in Canada for the treatment of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis, the inflammation of the nasal passages caused by allergies.
The first scientific measurements in humans show that potentially harmful haloacetic acids (HAAs) appear in the urine of swimmers within 30 minutes after exposure to chlorinated water where HAAs form as a byproduct of that water disinfection method.
Circassia Ltd, a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on allergy, today announced that the United States' National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a $6.4 million grant to Professor Mark Larché of McMaster University, Canada, to study mechanisms of tolerance developed by patients treated with Circassia's Toleromune® allergy therapy.
