bioTheranostics, Inc., developer of innovative oncology diagnostic tests and solution provider for metastatic cancer, today announced findings from two studies showing high diagnostic accuracy for CancerTYPE ID in determining the primary tumor site in high-grade, metastatic tumors. Results were reported at the 2012 annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Chicago.
In a bid to detect cancers early and in a noninvasive way, scientists at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center report they have developed a test that spots tiny amounts of cancer-specific DNA in blood and have used it to accurately identify more than half of 138 people with relatively early-stage colorectal, breast, lung and ovarian cancers.
A supply chain strategy built on excellence in customer service and a partnership with UHC Supply Chain has helped UHC member University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics initiate 35 projects that saved more than $14 million in 18 months.
Researchers have generated altered immune cells that are able to shrink, and in some cases eradicate, large tumors in mice.
A new study of COVID-19 shutdowns in the United States reveals pronounced disparities in air pollution - with disenfranchised, minority neighborhoods still experiencing more exposure to a harmful air pollutant compared to wealthier, white communities.
