In a historic first, the American Journal of Public Health has devoted an issue to covering stigma and discrimination against people with mental illnesses, a topic that traditionally is under-researched and under-reported.
Genetic research on concussions is progressing in many different avenues. However, researchers presenting their work at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine's Specialty Day, believe there may be a new genetic connection regarding recovery rates following a sports-related concussion.

In one of the first molecular studies of the human antibody response to yellow fever, Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) researchers and their colleagues have found the crucial bit of virus that people's immune systems need to spot and quash this often-fatal re-emerging disease.
Avillion LLP, a co-developer of late-stage pharmaceutical assets, announces that the first patients have been dosed in the United States in a global Phase 3 clinical trial called "BFORE," which is designed to assess the effectiveness and safety of BOSULIF (bosutinib) as a first-line treatment for patients with chronic phase Philadelphia chromosome positive (Ph+) chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). The first patient was dosed on July 22, 2014.
