A new study posted to the medRxiv* preprint server derives measures of substantial efficacy for these vaccines in preventing mild to moderate COVID-19 from a group of outpatients with and without a history of vaccination.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced the approval of Gardasil, the first vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer, precancerous genital lesions and genital warts due to human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16 and 18.
Researchers at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center analyzed gene-expression patterns in the most aggressive prostate cancer grade group - known as Gleason grade group 5 - and found that this grade of cancer can actually be subdivided into four subtypes with distinct differences.
Daniel Alford, MD, MPH, dean of the office of Continuing Medical Education and associate professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine and director of the Clinical Addiction Research and Education Unit at Boston Medical Center, received the American Medical Association Foundation Award for Health Education.
