According to new research babies who are put to bed with a dummy in their mouths have a significantly lower risk of cot death.
On the last week of April earlier this year, a small committee of doctors met quietly in a midsized ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago. There was an anesthesiologist, an ophthalmologist, a radiologist, and so on-;thirty-one in all, each representing their own medical specialty society, each a heavy hitter in his or her own field.
Microarrays, sometimes called "gene chip" devices, enable researchers to monitor the activities of thousands of genes from a single tissue sample simultaneously, identifying patterns that may be novel indicators of disease status.
The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania has been awarded more than $1 million by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop new approaches to combat antibiotic resistance.
The president appeared on an edgy internet comedy show called, "Between Two Ferns," to urge young people to sign up for health insurance before open enrollment ends on March 31.
