On Monday 7 December the journal Nature Communications published the research findings of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Merck Research Laboratories (Merck is known as MSD outside the US and Canada) and Leiden University concerning an entirely new way of antagonizing a human nuclear receptor.
Only about one in five central Pennsylvania women who have experienced intimate partner violence is asked or counseled by a health care provider about abuse, according to Penn State medicine and public health science researchers. Overall, approximately only one in nine women has received preventive counseling about violence and safety.
One of the most challenging issues facing law enforcement today is handling encounters involving people with mental illness. Although the majority of people with mental illness do not commit criminal acts, around 1 in 5 will come into contact with the law as police officers are often the first to respond to incidents.
A new study has shown that overactive immune systems may be the trigger that gives rise to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). The study results were published in the latest issue of the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology.
