Stroke victims affected with loss of speech caused by Broca's aphasia have been shown to speak fluidly through the use of a process called "speech entrainment" developed by researchers at the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health.
Seniors who step outside their comfort zones could be enhancing their memories beyond those who stick with what they know.
"While the [Feed the Future] program took a few years to get off the ground, and is probably not all that well known to the public, it is a favorite of USAID Administrator Raj Shah - and also a go-to program budget hawks now want to cut back," development blogger Tom Murphy writes in the Humanosphere blog, noting the "House Budget Committee recommended to cut Feed the Future entirely last year."
Two studies conducted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Massachusetts Medical School indicated that mothers who were affected with severe infections that required hospitalization are at an increased risk of having an autistic child.
