Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today confirmed that its subsidiary, Watson Laboratories, Inc. - Florida, filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) seeking approval to market Mesalamine Delayed-release Tablets, 1.2g. Watson's ANDA product is a generic version of Shire Development LLC's Lialda.
NPR's "Weekend Edition Sunday" examined issues surrounding HIV/AIDS education in the U.S. The segment included a discussion with Adam Tenor - executive director of Metro TeenAIDS, a not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., that runs education programs in city schools - and with John Jemmott, a specialist in health psychology at the University of Pennsylvania.
The bacterium B. cereus had so far been considered to be exclusively endospore-forming. In response to harsh conditions, the bacteria form protective endospores enabling them to remain dormant for extended periods. When conditions are more favourable, the endospores reactivate to become fully functioning bacteria.
Volunteers are to have chocolate delivered to their homes and be encouraged to eat 50g of it every day for eight weeks as part of a new research study.
