Findings from a study published in the September/October 2008 issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal show that, contrary to popular belief, breastfeeding is not a likely cause of post-pregnancy drooping of the breasts.
Penn Medicine researchers may have found the reason why some patients with advanced chronic lymphocytic leukemia don't respond to chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy, and the answer is tied to how primed patients' immune systems are before the therapy is administered.
About 22 percent of women between the ages of 15 and 44 report having used emergency contraception. But even though the Food and Drug Administration approved levonorgestrel-more commonly known as Plan B-for over-the-counter use for women of all ages in 2013, it's not always easy to get-especially at local, mom-and-pop drug stores.
The nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute will run 11 workshops in Seattle May 11-13, 2010, on how to implement lean management principals in healthcare, as well as in management accounting, strategic planning, and administrative processes.
Clostridium difficile, a wily, familiar bacterium, causes a growing number of serious infections in U.S. hospitals and nursing homes. With a $7.5 million, five-year award from the National Institutes of Health, University of Michigan researchers plan to discover what factors in the microbe and in patients make C. difficile a formidable, costly problem.
