The cause of higher incidence of gallstone after radical gastrectomy still remains unknown. Almost all previous studies have attributed gallstone formation to gallbladder motility disorder after gastrectomy, But this theory cannot completely explain it. Is there any other risk factor of gallstone formation after gastrectomy?
Providing the more than 10 million people incarcerated around the world "with better health care could prevent outbreaks of HIV and tuberculosis from spilling over into the general population experts say," the Associated Press/Washington Post reports.
Research led by David Litchfield of The University of Western Ontario has identified how biochemical pathways can be "rewired" in cancer cells to allow these cells to ignore signals that should normally trigger their death. It's one way that cancer cells may become resistant to therapy.
The use of the more potent antiplatelet medication ticagrelor was not superior to clopidogrel in the reduction of the rate of heart attack or severe complications among people undergoing an elective procedure to open a blocked artery, according to late-breaking research presented today at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions 2020.
