A Wayne State University interdisciplinary research team in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has made a surprising discovery: older, more mature motorists - who typically are better drivers in many circumstances - are much worse than their younger counterparts when texting while driving.
Today Phadia announced that it has received FDA 510 (K) clearance for four new EliA autoimmune antibody assays. These new assays will provide physicians with additional tools needed to aid in the diagnosis of Antiphospholipid Syndrome. The newly available EliA assays, anti-cardiolipin (aCL) IgG/IgM and anti-B2-glycoprotein 1 (anti-B2-GP1) IgG/IgM, have proven to be essential, sensitive, and specific markers to aid in the diagnosis of APS.
Gulf Coast Spine Care has been helping its patients treat their pain for many years, and recently the company has announced that they will be enacing a series of the latest neck pain treatments to better meet the needs of its patients.
Diagnosing and treating obstructive sleep apnea may soon become much less expensive and arduous, thanks to new research showing that a simplified program using experienced nurses, home ambulatory diagnosis and auto-titrating continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines to titrate CPAP pressures is not inferior to the traditional model which relies on specialist physicians and sleep studies.
A survey of 200 hospitals found that nearly 80 percent do not require board certification of pediatricians at the time of initial granting of hospital privileges, although most hospitals do require board certification at some point in the pediatrician's tenure
