A study published in the scientific journal Addiction suggests that, contrary to what some are claiming, people in the US may not be substituting cannabis for opioids.
A research project headed by a faculty member from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, which will explore whether administering a protein that's produced in the body can help prevent obesity and type 2 diabetes, has received $464,145 in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
Women who have survived childhood cancer should be advised to breastfeed if they can, in order to offset some of the negative health effects of their earlier cancer treatment. According to Susan Ogg and colleagues from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, making women aware of the benefits of breastfeeding should be part of routine post-cancer diet and healthy lifestyle recommendations.
