Scientists have described new results of a blood cancer study as 'outstanding' in tackling previously untreatable forms of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Life Technologies Corporation today announced the publication of two key scientific papers that highlight the utility of next-generation sequencing instruments in better understanding disease and the genetic differences that cause diversity within and between human populations. The Applied Biosystems SOLiD™ System was used in both of these research studies.
Dean Evans & Associates today announced the official rollout of new versions of their facility scheduling and resource management products. Used at more than 3,600 customer sites in the U.S. and abroad, EMS (Event Management System) software provides powerful tools for helping organizations be more efficient at reserving rooms, resources and personnel for meetings and events, managing resource inventories and communicating details to staff, meeting organizers and attendees.
The U.S. Postal Service is bracing for a first-ever default on billions in payments due to the Treasury, adding to widening uncertainty about the mail agency's solvency as first-class letters plummet and Congress deadlocks on ways to stem the red ink.
"Just a small percentage of low- and middle-income countries' health care budgets are allocated toward the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases even though such illnesses are expected to account for 69% of global deaths by 2030," according to a paper published Wednesday in the Lancet, as part of a series on chronic disease and development, ModernHealthcare.com reports.
