House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said he disagrees with President Obama's support of transferring Congress's price-setting powers over Medicare to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), which now acts as an advisory panel, USA Today reports.
Asthmatx Inc., announced today that the Anesthesiology and Respiratory Therapy Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) voted to recommend that the Alair® System, a device utilized in bronchial thermoplasty for the treatment of severe persistent asthma in patients 18 years and older, be found approvable with conditions.
Mylan N.V. and Mylan Inc. today announced the successful completion of the acquisition of Abbott Laboratories' non-U.S. developed markets specialty and branded generics business.
